Úlfur Eldjárn (f. 1976)

Úlfur Eldjárn hefur starfað sem tónlistarmaður frá unga aldri, bæði sjálfstætt og með hinum ýmsu hljómsveitum, er m.a. meðlimur í Orgelkvartettinum Apparat sem hefur ferðast með nokkur hundruð kíló af gömlum rafmagnsorgelum um víða veröld og komið fram á tónleikastöðum á borð við Pompidou miðstöðinni í París, Central Park í New York, I.C.A. í London og tónlistarhátíðunum Pukkelpop og Hróarskeldu. Síðasta hljómplata Orgelkvartettsins Apparat, Pólýfónía, var í efstu sætunum á árslistum íslenskra gagrýnenda 2011 og var í forvali fyrir tilnefningar til norrænu tónlistarverðlaunanna 2012.

Úlfur hefur samið töluvert af tónlist fyrir leikhús, sjónvarp og aðra miðla og hefur verið tilnefndur til Grímu- og Edduverðlauna fyrir verkefni á því sviði. Hann gaf út sína fyrstu sólóplötu árið 2010, Field Recordings: Music from the Ether. Hann stundar nú B.A. nám í tónsmíðum við Listaháskóla Íslands.

Úlfur Eldjárn (b. 1976)

Úlfur Eldjárn has worked as a musician since a very young age, individually and as a member of various alternative pop groups, most notably the Apparat Organ Quartet, a group that has brought several hundred kilos of old electric organs to venues such as the Pompidou Centre in Paris, Central Park N.Y., The I.C.A. in London and music festivals such as Pukkelpop and Roskilde. A.O.Q.’s last record, Pólýfónía, topped most end of year lists in Iceland in 2011 and was shorlisted for the Nordic Music Price in 2012.

Úlfur has been prolific as a composer for theatre, television and other media and has been nominated for both the Icelandic Theatre Awards and the EDDA Awards (The Icelandic Film & TV Academy Awards) for his work in that field. He released his first solo record in 2010, Field Recordings: Music from the Ether. He’s currently studying for B.A. degree composition at the Iceland Academy of the Arts.
